{"id":16815,"date":"2022-11-22T09:42:31","date_gmt":"2022-11-22T09:42:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.reddrivingschool.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=16815"},"modified":"2022-11-22T09:42:31","modified_gmt":"2022-11-22T09:42:31","slug":"esso-mpg-challenge","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.reddrivingschool.com\/news\/esso-mpg-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"RED Driving Instructors take part in Esso MPG challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RED\u2019s Driving Instructors were challenged by Esso UK to see who could achieve the lowest overall MPG using fuel-efficient driving techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The car used for the challenge was a Vauxhall Motors Ltd Corsa Elite which has a 1.2 litre petrol engine and the set route encompassed urban, rural and high-speed roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Representing Esso, Guinness World Record holder Kevin Booker \u2013 one of the most successful hypermilers in the UK, alongside RED\u2019s top trainer Iain West-Moore, shared tips that achieved an average of 19.3% higher yield than the MPG achieved by untrained drivers on the same route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>This equates to a fuel efficiency gain which could save thousands of pounds for businesses.
