From today, 1st<\/sup> October 2015, it is illegal to smoke in a car carrying children and young people under the age of 18.  The law means that any drivers and passengers who decide to smoke in a vehicle containing children under the age of 18, will face a penalty fine of \u00a350 for their actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RED Driving School have teamed up with NHS Smokefree<\/a> to help raise awareness of the law. We\u2019ve created an infographic to highlight other driving offences that you may not be aware of, according to the Highway Code!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, did you know that the use of horns at nightime in urban areas in the UK is banned? Check out the infographic below and test your knowledge of some of the lesser known areas of the Highway Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With one less place to smoke, there\u2019s one more reason to quit. Today marks the start of Stoptober, where smokers are encouraged to give up smoking for the month of October. Quitting for a month will make it five times more likely that you will stop for good, so give it a go and sign up here!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
